well, people this is going to be the longest bloggie entry made on madeleine's blog. Well, i've finially survived the week. To me the week has ended - most of the work done. Now, looking forward to the sun tan on friday -- finally some time alone, peace and quiet.

Hi!
How was your week?
I know this sounds silly but I was so bothered by a mosquito that sneaked into my room this week despite taking all the necessary precautions to ensure this doesn't happen -- I made sure the room door was closed at all times. There's a even a mosquito net covering the window!
I'm paranoid about this because somehow, mosquitoes love to bite me. When I was outfield during army days, people love to sleep round me because the mosquitoes would bite me and not them. After losing blood by the litres, I've learnt how to maximise protection...
Back to the story...I strolled into the room, all set to finish up some assignments. Put my cup of water down, walked to the bookshelf, pulled out a text. A mosquito flew out. I dropped everything and went after it, searching every nook and cranny, ruffling every book and clothing.
In the midst, I thought...All flustered up because of one mosquito, for what?! Live life as normal, I'm sure I'll come across it again and smack it then.
I reflected on some mosquitoes in my life. Our whole life stops just to kill that one mosquito. Is it necessary?
Yet, some mosquitoes ought to be killed or it will wreak havoc and eventually kill you. I'm talking about bad habits. Some are ok, mere idiosyncrasies but some are deadly like the dengue fever mosquito. Unless you kill the source, these will breed into trouble.
The key is to identify the mosquitoes and know thyself.
True enough, that pesky thing came my way today and I seized it with my hand. My palm was smeared with undigested blood...my blood. *smile*
Take care,
God Bless.
Reuben.

Hi G2-- [my class]
Here's a quiz:
Question 1: what does the number 17 mean to you?
Answer: that is the number of students from G2 who did not attend today!
If you guessed correctly, you get a prize!
Question 2: what was the cause of so many absences?
Answer: (multiple choice)
a. sudden mass memory loss that there was class today
b. all 17 had the winning lottery ticket and have chosen to enjoy the beaches of Bali
c. the directions on how to get to the classroom were misplaced
d. all 17 were selected to be on the next "American Idol" series and try-outs were today
e. all 17 collectively decided that accounting is more interesting, so they took their CPA exam
instead
Question 3: What did the newly annointed "Vanishing 17" actually miss?
Answer: (multiple choice)
a. auditions to be in the next Star Wars movie
b. significant cash given to those students who did attend
c. free iPods for each student
d. a memorable class in which the teams presented futuristic product ideas
If you guess correctly, then you get a bonus prize (but I can't tell you what it is)!
OK, I know I can't force you to attend class and you are obviously free to make your own choices. But for those of you who choose to show up for the remaining sessions, I have a request: please show up on time. I know you session is at 8:30 am on Tuesdays, but showing up 15 to 30 minutes or even an hour late is disruptive, plus it gives me great ammunition to put you on the spot to see if you've prepared! So I really want you to show up on time. That goes for the breaks between each
half as well...
I won't preach anymore. This is not a "Luke, I am your father" announcement...having a full class
creates a certain energy in which ideas get shared to the maximum level. Plus, you never know
what you're missing (like today)!
Cheers...from the Chief of Attendance Police
Honorable Sir General J.A. Davis, Esquire III
